Rackleff highlights Senior Night

Justin Rackleff's confidence paid dividends for
Broken Arrow High School Tuesday night.
It also gave the Tiger senior something to
remember for a lifetime.
His three-run homer broken open a close game
and vaulted BAHS to a rain-halted, 11-3 victory
over Sapulpa.
Rackleff's first homer of the season came at a
crucial moment on Senior Night.
"I've been feeling pretty good at the plate lately,"
he said. "But, it was a 4-3 game and we needed to
step it up."
The left-handed batting Rackleff, getting the start
at first base, answered the call.
He pulled a Joe Hardzog pitch over the right field wall to highlight a nine-run explosion.
"At first," Rackleff said afterward in a steady rain, "I wasn't sure it was gone or not.
"That was a great feeling when it went over and something we needed as a team."
It was the fourth of five straight hits by BAHS off Hardzog in the frame.
Rackleff's homer scored Nathan Pettus, who had doubled home one run, and Adam Johnston,
who had reached on an RBI single.
"Justin is such a great kid with a great attitude," BAHS coach Shannon Dobson said.
"He's always hooked up and ready to play. It couldn't have happened to a better kid."
The Tigers needed a couple of innings to solve the left-handed Hardzog.
"He (Hardzog) throws so slow, we had trouble adjusting the first couple of innings," Dobson said.
"Against those guys, you have see them a time or two to get the timing down.
"We finally got that timing down in the third inning."
Trailing 3-1 in a snail-paced game, the Tigers sent 14 batters to the plate in the third against
Hardzog and Chieftain reliever Tucker Hurt.
Two Sapulpa errors and RBI singles by Lance Rymel and Andy Wilkins get the Tiger merry go-
round spinning.
BAHS reliever Derek Edmisten was credited with the victory, allowing three hits and one run
over the last 4 2/3 innings.
